Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located in the Changme Village 20 km to the south of the Longlin County Town, Guangxi. It was named by You Jiarong in 1982.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Light-grey and grey massive limestones, intercalated with algal limestone. Thickness is 50-70 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the light-grey limestone of the underlying Maping Fm.

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the grey limestone of the overlying Qixia Fm.

Regional extent

Distributed in the alignment of Ceheng-Ziyun- and-Wangmo areas.

Fossils

Fusulinida fossils such as Misellina, Robustoschwagerina, Parafusulina and Pseudofusulina, etc.. Corals represented by Iranophyllum, Wetzellophyllum, etc.

Additional Information

The boundaries of the formation are determined mainly on the basis of biologic fossils, since lithologically the formation is difficult to be differentiated from both its neighboring overlying and underlying rock formations, so it actually belongs to the known Houziguan Limestone.
